Moss (Making Our Seniors Special)
MOSS ===== Make Our Seniors Special
Wednesday, May 15th, LUNCH at 11:30 a.m., followed by speaker Dr. Helen Harris. Dr. Harris started the first
hospice in Central Texas some years ago and is now Associate Professor at the Diana R. Garland School of Social
Work at Baylor University. She will talk about hospice. Please let Marie or May know if you can help with
cooking and/or cleaning up. Let’s have a great attendance!

TLC2, our small group, will be meeting weekly at 10:30 am at Vicki’s Home. All are welcome!

Welcome Wagon
Welcome Wagon started in 1928 welcoming newcomers in to communities and neighborhoods. With information about the community and a basket of gifts from local businesses, newcomers received a visit from a Welcome Wagon volunteer.
Today, 2019, is so very different from 1928. People are moving from one place to another, and in most cases, never knowing their neighbors. The adults work long hours, children have many activities besides going to school. There is little to no time to meet someone who has moved in next door or across the street.
Lake Shore UMC is looking forward to the future of greeting the newcomer to our neighborhood through the Welcome Wagon program. Welcome Wagon provides Lake Shore with the names and addresses of those who have moved into our zip code area (76708); then we contact these folks by sending them a welcome to the neighborhood with an invitation to worship.
There, of course, is more to the program. So, there will be a note in the newsletter each month letting you know about this adventure that Lake Shore UMC is taking …
Pastor Linda Freeto

The group meets on the May 8nd at 6:00 pm and will sing for the Mother’s Day Service on May 12. If you love
to sing and want to have some fun, please join Jim and the others on Wednesday evening.

The Crochet Club is still meeting every other Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.  We are still
making mats and plarn. Last month we met and celebrated Christmas with snacks and Chinese Christmas. We
welcome anyone who likes to cut plastic bags and visit.

Invite someone to church this Sunday. Guests are also invited to M.O.S.S.
